This project was funded by the Warrumbungle Shire Council through two grants  - as part of NSW Youth Week funded by NSW Department of Community and Justice (Youth week ran officially ran from 1-9 April 2020 and the project was launched in NSW Youth Week) and  through the Drought Communities Programme Extension grants which is a Federal government Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Communications initiative for Council drought relief projects. As part of  a Youth Pathways program across Warrumbungle Shire to support young people with a variety of programs, events and support along with supporting local business.

Initially running for the 3 weeks the Warrumbungle Goose Chase was extended for three Months due to the great take up by families and youth across the Warrumbungle Shire and to enable more teams to join.
